In this week’s #NewBusinessMindset, professional writer and creative thinker Tommy Housworth talks to co-host Todd Schnick and me about the importance of telling your story as a tool that humanizes, creates connections and allows an opening.
Going further, he helps us see that our whole lives are improvised – a story!
Lessons from the Show
Tommy shared the story of his life and vocation and offered us many wonderful lessons and tales that point us towards an authentic, happy and fulfilling life and career including:
- Recognizing that we are all story-tellers: story telling is an important part of who and what we are as human beings and as individuals. In a sense, our entire life is a story;
- We spend our whole lives telling and living stories on the fly, dynamically, the whole time: we in essence are constantly improvising our lives. Once we see and come to terms with this, it is actually really exciting!
- And finally, as suggested by the tattoo on his wrist, Tommy talked about the importance of practicing and learning to say “yes”.
