Susan Reed is passionate about the role intentional creativity plays in innovation and founded EdgeDweller in 2003 to create game-changing growth solutions for clients, to teach transformational leadership skills to executives and high potentials, and to build innovation capacity at the organizational level. Informed by socially responsible brands, and inspired by Interface and Ray Anderson, she uses social change as a core growth strategy and has successfully integrated environmental and social impact into growth strategies for clients without economic trade-offs.
Ms. Reed has helped launch product, service, and business model innovations in over 25 different industries over 150 brands that range from incubators to Fortune 50s. She has served as guest speaker for audiences that include the U.S. Congress, American Marketing Association, Small Business Administration, Universities, Minority groups, International marketing/innovation forums, Women’s groups and a wide range of industry groups.
We had a fascinating conversation with Susan about her career and about the role of – and opportunity for – creativity in the business world. Highlights included:
- That 98% of people have the ability to use creativity in a significant way, but only 1% of people are using these skills;
- The joy Susan gets from watching people ignite creativity;
